Sports Day this year was a tale of two weathers really. Very sadly Lower School Sports Day had to be cancelled as the heavens opened and it was just too wet and cold. Really sorry guys.

By the afternoon slot it had dried out and Upper School Sports Day was set to go. As you can see from the pictures it was a brilliant afternoon. The sun may not have been shining much but the students did! Some tremendous performances on the track and in the set events showed excellent bursts of speed, strength and agility and everyone was awarded with a special 2019 Wyvern Sports Day medal.

It was made extra special by having so many family members and friends cheering the races on. Thank you to everyone who came, especially those who took part in the parent race. It always looks like no one wants to do it, then suddenly there is a huge crowd. Thank you – the looks on the children’s faces were priceless!

I would also like to thank Judy Gage for again organising the event and all the Wyvern staff for being such good sports.

Finally I would like to thank the Year 8 sports leaders from Wey Valley School who were exceptionally brilliant this year, helping out before, during and after Sports Day and encouraging our students to do their best.
