Key stage 4

During Key Stage 4 all students follow Entry Level qualifications in ASDAN Personal Progress. In addition, some students also follow Entry Level qualifications in English, Maths and ICT.

• In 2016-17 1 Year 11 student achieved her Entry Level Functional Skills in English (Speaking and Listening/Reading), Mathematics, and ICT, a great achievement.
• All six students entered also achieved ASDAN Personal Progress Entry Level qualifications. Of these, five students made expected progress, two gaining an Award-sized qualification and three gaining a Certificate-sized qualification, and one student made above expected progress gaining a Certificate-sized qualification a year early to facilitate his early move into the sixth form.

Sixth Form

In the sixth form all our students now take qualifications in OCR Life and Living Skills.

In addition our broad curriculum offers opportunities for certification through our link courses with local FE providers including Kingston Maurward and Weymouth College.
There is a strong work experience programme in place for all students, accessing placements with both local and national employers wherever possible. All students also participate in a variety of work-based and non-qualification activities and enterprises such as coffee mornings, a café based in the local community and various sales such as potted plants, hanging baskets and jams and chutneys.

Year 14 leavers in 2017:
• All seven students entered for the OCR Life and Living Skills achieved the Entry Level Certificate-sized qualification, making expected progress. This was the first year of running this qualification and was a big achievement for the students and the academy.

Year 14 destinations:
All students are successfully placed in social care settings, further education colleges or private package:
• One student at Weymouth College
• One student at Kingston Maurward College
• One student at Employ My Ability
• Two students in local Social Care provision
• One student in private care, funded by Social Care
• One student awaiting funding for a personal package
