RRS is an award that recognises the commitment of schools to ensure that the rights in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) are embedded in practice and that the school actively promotes awareness of the content of the convention across staff parents and students.

In order to achieve this award schools need to demonstrate that the Rights respecting ethos has a high profile within the school and that the curriculum provides a good range of opportunities to make links to the UNCRC.

We have registered for the Rights Respecting Schools award and have purchased a range of materials to assist us in promoting awareness of the UNCRC. We are in the process of reviewing our curriculum topic cycle. As a part of this review we will be highlighting opportunities to explore elements of the UNCRC.
